Chance of the change?

Nowadays people and our next generations have a new challenge for their life, especially in education and technology. At this point, technology has a very crucial role in our life. It can take our repetition task within the automatic robot so that modern education should provide skills that never be replaced by robots. Such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, communication, etc.

Talking about transformation Allah swt. said in surah Ar Ra’d verse 11 that

Bagi manusia ada malaikat-malaikat yang selalu mengikutinya bergiliran, di muka dan di belakangnya, mereka menjaganya atas perintah Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak merubah keadaan sesuatu kaum sehingga mereka merubah keadaan yang ada pada diri mereka sendiri. Dan apabila Allah menghendaki keburukan terhadap sesuatu kaum, maka tak ada yang dapat menolaknya; dan sekali-kali tak ada pelindung bagi mereka selain Dia.

Allah swt. want to see the effort of the community (or person) to change their life quality. Thus rationally impossible if people want to have a better life without any effort (maybe there’s some exception like a windfall, but we can’t rely on it).

Back then, the transformation has occurred many times in many nations in every era because it indicates to us that there’s a sign of human life. On the other hand, in surah Yusuf:111 Allah swt. said that

Sesungguhnya pada kisah-kisah mereka itu terdapat pengajaran bagi orang-orang yang mempunyai akal. Al Quran itu bukanlah cerita yang dibuat-buat, akan tetapi membenarkan (kitab-kitab) yang sebelumnya dan menjelaskan segala sesuatu, dan sebagai petunjuk dan rahmat bagi kaum yang beriman.

This verse tells us that we should learn about the past of human life particularly about their innovations and their mistakes so we aren’t repeating it. On this side, history is very important to learn in every generation. Because there’s a possibility for history will repeat itself but in a different place and character.

Besides we focus on human material things of the transformation better we emphasize our energy to the psychology of the human because it has a constant change in every era. So we should view history from two perspectives at the same time that is transcendental and material causality.

Community transformation can start with the upgrading of people’s quality particularly on self-reconstruction, self-awareness, and self-capability.

Rasulullah saw. exemplify us with the case after hijrah from Mecca to Medina. First, he unifies people’s visions. Then, he creates a solid community. Third, he builds the market. Last, he gathers the political base.

Anyway, all the transformation for the better community should be in Allah swt. way. The leader must have good integrity, well plan preparation, and have the best and constructive team.
